"Senior Putin Aide Warns Trump Could 'Share the Fate of JFK' If He Attempts to End the Ukraine War"

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chair of the Russian Security Council and former president of the Russian Federation, stated on Sunday that Donald Trump could “share the fate of John F. Kennedy” if he attempts to halt the Ukraine war following Tuesday’s election.

John F. Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963.

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chair of the Russian Security Council and former president of Russia, remarked on Sunday that Donald Trump might “share the fate of John F. Kennedy” if he attempts to end the Ukraine war after winning the upcoming election.

In a post on Telegram, Medvedev expressed skepticism about any significant change resulting from the election, asserting that the candidates’ stances reflect a bipartisan consensus on the need to defeat Russia. “We have no reason to expect too much,” he stated.

He continued, “The best way to make the day for the candidates to the highest U.S. office on November 5 is to continue crushing the Nazi Kiev regime.” Medvedev reiterated Russian President Vladimir Putin's characterization of Ukraine as a “neo-Nazi dictatorship,” a justification used for Russia's invasion in February 2022, which Putin claimed aimed to “de-Nazify” Ukraine. This assertion is often supported by references to the Azov Brigade, a Ukrainian militia with historical links to Nazi sympathies, though Ukrainian President Volodyr Zelensky, who is Jewish, has strongly condemned this narrative.

Medvedev dismissed Trump's claims that he could end the Ukraine conflict if he wins the 2024 presidential election, suggesting that Trump would be constrained by the established political system. “A tired Trump, issuing platitudes like ‘I’ll offer a deal’ and ‘I have a great relationship with…’ will also be forced to follow all the system’s rules. He won’t be able to stop the war. Not in a day, not in three days, not in three months,” he stated, adding ominously, “If he really tries to, he may share the fate of John F. Kennedy.”

Medvedev also suggested that the new president's primary concern would be securing funding for the military-industrial complex rather than resolving the conflict. “Only one thing matters: how much money the new POTUS will knock out for someone else’s distant war – for his military-industrial complex and for the Bandera scum to cut up,” he claimed.

Stepan Bandera, a Ukrainian nationalist leader assassinated by Soviet agents in 1959, is viewed as a national hero by many in Ukraine but is characterized by Russia as a symbol of neo-Nazi ideology.

Furthermore, Medvedev had harsh words for Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her “stupid, inexperienced, controllable, and will be afraid of everyone around her.” He speculated that a “synod of the most important ministers and assistants will rule,” suggesting that former President Barack Obama’s family would indirectly influence the Biden administration.

In a recent interview with RT.com, Medvedev claimed the Ukraine war could have been avoided if Western leaders had displayed “wisdom” and “flexibility” to establish a comprehensive security agreement with Russia. He criticized Western powers for bullying others and operating under a principle of American exceptionalism, predicting that this would lead to their downfall.

Medvedev further noted that NATO's expansion, particularly involving Ukraine, could trigger World War III. He has been among the most aggressive Russian officials, issuing threats of nuclear war in response to Western support for Ukraine and warning against any legal repercussions for Putin at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

He has previously made extreme threats, including unleashing nuclear war and invoking apocalyptic imagery if the West supplied Ukraine with advanced weaponry. In February 2024, he stated that a Russian defeat in Ukraine would lead to nuclear attacks on Berlin, London, Washington, D.C., and Kyiv, asserting that his threats were serious, not merely intimidation or bluffing.
