New Hampshire Business Owners Rip Kamala Harris Before Her Visit to Tout Kamalanomics

Small business owners in New Hampshire expressed strong criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of her visit to the Granite State on Wednesday, where she plans to promote what has been dubbed "Kamalanomics."

During her visit, Harris is expected to announce economic policies aimed at small business owners, who have been struggling with rising costs, increased regulatory pressures, and higher taxes under the Biden-Harris administration. A survey conducted by RedBalloon and Public Square in July revealed that nearly half of small businesses feared they would not survive another four years under the current administration.

Harris’s proposed economic measures reportedly include Soviet-style price controls, a tax on unrealized capital gains, an expanded death tax, and increased income taxes.

"It will be the beginning of the end for America if Kamala wins," said Tom Moulton of SleepNet Corporation in Hampton. "Our country cannot and will not be able to withstand a Kamala Harris presidency and the progressive Democratic agenda. Our way of life as we know it will be over."

Critics argue that Harris’s tax policies would severely harm capital investment and jeopardize the survival of small businesses.

“Penalizing small businesses for making a profit is as un-American as it gets,” said Scott Fitzgerald, owner of Fast Signs in Manchester. “I’ll be encouraging all my fellow small business owners to join me in voting for President Trump.”

Currently, small businesses pay an average effective federal income tax rate of 19.8 percent, according to the Small Business Administration (SBA), while large corporations like Amazon and Microsoft, armed with extensive legal and accounting resources, pay an average effective rate of just 12.8 percent.

The United States is home to approximately 34 million small businesses, employing nearly 62 million American workers, according to data from the Small Business Administration (SBA). These businesses represent 46 percent of private sector employees and were responsible for creating 62 percent of net new jobs between 1995 and 2021.

“It’s simply unaffordable for too many working families and small business owners, and Kamala only wants to make it worse,” said Michael Moote Jr. of Moote Property Maintenance in Claremont. “I’ll be voting for President Trump in 2024.”

Crissy Kantor of Chill Spa in Manchester added, “New Hampshire’s small business owners deserve better than Kamalanomics and Kamala Harris’s America Last agenda.
