"Hezbollah Marks Trump Victory with Rocket Fire at Trump Heights in Israel"

Hezbollah marked President-elect Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election by firing rockets at the Israeli town of Trump Heights on Wednesday morning

There were no reports of damage there.

However, a car was damaged in the town of Ra’anana, near Tel Aviv, when pieces of a Hezbollah missile that was destroyed by Israel’s

missile defense system fell onto a parked car.

The risk of falling rocket fragments is why Israel advises citizens to remain in shelters or safe rooms for ten minutes after rocket sirens sound, even if the Iron Dome or other defense systems intercept the projectiles.

Trump Heights, located in the Golan Heights, was named in honor of Donald Trump for his recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the area, which was captured from Syria during the 1967 Six-Day War.

Trump has promised to end the ongoing conflict in Lebanon while ensuring that Israel has the freedom to defend itself against threats from Iranian-backed terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas. An end to the war could also open up opportunities for significant foreign policy achievements early in the new administration, including expanding the Abraham Accords to include Saudi Arabia.
