Khanna: Bass Should Step Down as Mayor, Calls for ‘New Leadership Statewide’

During an interview on Friday’s edition of *The Issue Is*, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) called for Disney CEO Bob Iger to replace Karen Bass as the Mayor of Los Angeles, emphasizing the need for fresh leadership both in California and its major cities. Khanna argued that dynamic leadership is crucial, particularly in Los Angeles.

Khanna stated, "Who should be running for L.A. mayor is Bob Iger. He’s someone I know very well. He’s the leader of Disney and a remarkable person. He had considered running for president. We need new leadership in California and its cities. Bob Iger would be phenomenal. Los Angeles requires a major rebuild, and I’m hopeful he will take on the challenge."

He continued, "I supported Karen Bass the first time, but right now, I would prefer Bob Iger. This is a moment of crisis. Iger’s business acumen and innovative leadership could help redevelop the city. We need to get Los Angeles ready for the 2028 Olympics. I want new leadership statewide, and dynamic leadership in Los Angeles is essential."
