Cruz Urges Trump to Accept Any Debate Conditions Set by the Harris Campaign

On Monday, during an appearance on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) encouraged former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, to agree to any debate conditions set by the Harris campaign.

Cruz argued that the debate between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, would likely be biased in Harris's favor regardless of the rules, allowing her to avoid direct challenges to her candidacy.

"But look, Sean — I think Trump needs to participate in the debate, and frankly, he should agree to whatever unreasonable rules they propose," Cruz said. "It’s going to be hostile and biased no matter what, and I believe Kamala Harris would prefer to cancel the debate and blame it on Trump. She’s avoiding scrutiny. If they have an excuse to skip the debate, they might do nothing for the next 71 days except rely on the corporate media to cover for them."
