One of the most revealing moments from Vice President Kamala Harris’s CNN interview on Thursday night was her declaration, “My values have not changed,” particularly concerning her stance on the controversial Green New Deal.
Kamala’s statement underscores that her anonymous aides, who have been issuing late-night press releases suggesting she has shifted to more conservative positions, are misleading the public. These releases claim she has abandoned her previous views from just weeks ago.

CNN’s Dana Bash, often seen as a supporter of Harris, posed a leading question to the Vice President. Despite the obvious answers embedded in her question, Harris responded with the following:

Is it due to increased experience and information, or is it because you’re campaigning in a Democratic primary? Can voters trust that your current positions will remain consistent moving forward?
CACKLYMCNEVERBORDERCZAR: Dana, the most crucial aspect of my policy perspective is that my values have remained constant. Regarding the Green New Deal, I have always believed in addressing the climate crisis with urgent measures and setting deadlines.
Harris repeated that her values have not changed on three separate occasions during the interview. Yet, her aides have claimed otherwise in press releases, suggesting she now opposes electric vehicle mandates, supports fracking, intends to secure the border and construct the "racist" wall, and rejects “Medicare for All” in favor of private insurance.
If her values truly haven't changed, then her policies aligned with those values should also remain consistent.
On a critical issue like fracking, especially significant in Pennsylvania—a key swing state—Harris contradicted herself. She told Bash, “I made it clear on the debate stage in 2020 that I would not ban fracking.” This is inaccurate. She carefully indicated that Joe Biden would not ban fracking. Now, despite her ongoing support for the Green New Deal—which aims to phase out fossil fuels—she is paradoxically claiming support for fracking, which is logically inconsistent.
Bash, who was likely more focused on preserving her own status within the media rather than pressing Harris on these contradictions, did not challenge the Vice President on this point.
Ultimately, Harris and her aides, along with media figures, seem intent on creating a misleading narrative about her policies and values.
