Fox News Channel host Jesse Watters criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, for avoiding interviews and trying to alter the terms of an agreed-upon debate with former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee.

Watters remarked, "Kamala wants the microphones on because she wants to be interrupted. Men don’t come off well when they interrupt or argue with women. That’s why I try not to interrupt Jessica too much on ‘The Five.’ I do my best. She’ll probably have a sassy comeback, and the media will spin it as her winning. The stakes are high since this debate would be the first time Democrats don’t have control over their chosen candidate. She’s on her own for 90 minutes, live, in front of the entire nation. No script, no notes, no Oprah, no Obama, no excuses. Kamala will have to defend Biden’s record while explaining how she’s different, defend her own record and explain any changes, justify her involvement in the cover-up of the coup, and simultaneously criticize Trump’s record on the economy, immigration, and crime, which everyone knows is better."

He continued, "And she’ll have to do all this with a positive demeanor in her first presidential debate against someone who has already done six. Now you can see why she might want to bring notes. You’d think she’d want to do some interviews first, to test out some lines and see how she handles being challenged before facing Trump without preparation. But apparently, even that is too risky. The only way Kamala can win is if people know nothing about her."
