“I’d say truthfully, no, I don’t think the U.S. is ready for a female president, but that doesn’t mean they won’t vote for one. That doesn’t mean that people won’t vote for [Harris],” Ayola, a Welsh actress who is not eligible to vote in the United States, told Newsweek.
The actress from "The Pact" added, “Maybe new things, innovative things, progressive things only ever happen when we’re not ready for them,” but also noted, “Maybe by their very nature, they can’t — if we’re too comfortable, we just stick with what we have.”
I hope Kamala Harris wins against Trump, but I’m not in a position to vote. Is the U.S. ready for that? Not at all," said Rakie Ayola.
She continued, "But then, the U.S. wasn’t ready for Barack Obama either, and the response to him has influenced everything that's happened in politics since. So I hope she wins, but I'd also say, ‘Buckle up, everyone, because it's going to be a bumpy ride.'"
Ayola also mentioned that if she were in the United States and eligible to vote, she would cast her ballot for Jill Stein.
But I’d also understand that it would be a protest vote," said Rakie Ayola, known for her role in "No Offence." She added that she has "significant issues with both [Harris] and [Joe] Biden."
