New York sports talk radio legend Mike Francesa believes sexism played a role in President-elect Trump’s two electoral victories. On his *Mike Francesa Podcast*, Francesa shared his political perspective, suggesting that many male voters are simply not ready for a female president.
Mike Francesa pointed out that after President-elect Trump took the lead in the election, there were suddenly no accusations of fraud. "And, if you noticed last night, all of a sudden, as soon as he took the lead, there were no accusations about any (fraud). It’s amazing how secure the election became as soon as the numbers went the right way," he remarked.
However, the reality is that fewer allegations of meddling or cheating surfaced this time because, unlike in 2020, the voting process wasn't overwhelmed by tens of millions of mail-in ballots that required days to count. On the issue of sexism, it’s worth noting that male voters likely would have chosen Trump over Joe Biden (another man) if he had run, which was the reason Kamala Harris was in the race at all.
Interestingly, even women appeared less "ready to have the face of this nation be a female." In 2020, Joe Biden won the female vote by 15%, while Kamala Harris only won it by 10%, suggesting that even women were less inclined to support her. Ultimately, President-elect Trump secured 312 electoral votes, won all seven swing states, and led the popular vote by nearly five million votes.
