Colorado Governor Jared Polis expressed enthusiasm about Vice President Kamala Harris' "forward-looking, joyous vision" for the nation's future, highlighting its appeal to many in Colorado.

In an interview with PBS News during Night 3 of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Polis noted that unaffiliated voters make up a significant portion of Colorado’s electorate—48 percent, with projections showing that number will exceed 50 percent soon. He mentioned that former President Donald Trump does not resonate with these voters.
Polis also believes Harris at the top of the ticket enhances the Democrats' chances of taking control of the House, describing the situation as shifting from an uphill battle to a close contest. In Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, Democratic Rep. Yadira Caraveo is running for reelection, having won by fewer than 500 votes in 2022.
Additionally, Polis praised Harris' choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, emphasizing Walz's experience in managing crises and addressing key issues.
Walz formally accepted the vice presidential nomination on Wednesday, one day before Harris is set to be officially nominated.
