Election Poll: Majority of Americans View Harris as Insincere, See Trump as Authentic

**Poll: Americans View Harris as Insincere, See Trump as Authentic**

A recent Economist/YouGov poll reveals that a majority of Americans perceive Vice President Kamala Harris as insincere, believing she says what the public wants to hear rather than expressing her true beliefs. The poll, conducted from August 25-27 with a sample size of 1,554 Americans, found that 53% think Harris is merely placating the public. In contrast, only 35% believe she genuinely stands by her statements, while 12% remain unsure.

The sentiment is similar among the 1,368 registered voters surveyed, with 54% considering Harris disingenuous in her messaging and 39% viewing her as sincere. Seven percent of registered voters are undecided on her authenticity.

Harris faces significant challenges with independent voters. Only about 21% of independents believe she genuinely believes in what she says, while 56% think she does not, and 22% are uncertain.

In stark contrast, the poll shows a different perception of former President Donald Trump. Among all Americans surveyed, 51% believe Trump genuinely means what he says, while 39% think he says what he believes will please voters. Among registered voters, 53% see Trump as sincere, and 41% view him as trying to appease the public.

Independents also tend to view Trump as more authentic, with 48% believing he speaks from his own views and 36% feeling he is trying to placate voters. The remaining 16% of independents are unsure about his sincerity.

The poll also found that most voters see Trump as a strong leader, while Harris is viewed as a weaker leader, according to Breitbart News. The margin of error for both the overall sample and the registered voters is ± 3.2 percentage points.
