**Nancy Pelosi Hospitalized After Fall in Luxembourg During Official Engagement**
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, was hospitalized after sustaining an injury during an official engagement in Luxembourg, according to her spokesperson, Ian Krager. Despite her injury, Pelosi continues to work and remains in good spirits.
Sources told CNN that Pelosi's injury resulted from a fall on the stairs. While her office declined to comment on the specifics of the incident, a defense official confirmed that Pelosi was later medevaced by the U.S. military to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. The facility, renowned for treating U.S. troops injured in combat, is providing Pelosi with what her spokesperson described as "excellent treatment."
Pelosi had been traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. “Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” Krager said in a statement. He added, “She continues to work and regrets being unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements honoring the courage of our servicemembers during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history.”
Pelosi is expected to return to the United States soon, Krager noted. The incident follows another recent fall involving longtime Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, 82, who tripped at the U.S. Capitol earlier in the week, sustaining a minor cut to the face and a sprained wrist. McConnell has since resumed his schedule.
