Philadelphia Police: MS-13 Gang Member Arrested for Shooting at Moving Vehicles

**Philadelphia Police Charge MS-13 Gang Member in Shooting Incident**

A suspected MS-13 gang member and illegal immigrant from El Salvador has been charged in Philadelphia with shooting at multiple moving vehicles. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Fredy Antonio Amaya-Marin, allegedly fired shots at passing cars without any apparent motive, according to WLBT.

Philadelphia Police Captain Desmond Jones reported that Amaya-Marin, who had initially identified himself as Jonathan Salvador, was found to be using a false identity. His true identity was uncovered with the assistance of Homeland Security immigration agents who matched his fingerprints. Records revealed that Amaya-Marin had been deported to El Salvador in 2007 but had illegally reentered the United States some years later.

Further investigations confirmed that Amaya-Marin is a known member of the violent international street gang MS-13. In addition to facing eight counts of attempted murder, Amaya-Marin is also facing federal charges for illegal reentry after deportation and for being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm.

Captain Jones emphasized the cooperation between local, state, and federal agencies in efforts to combat gang violence, stating, "We will continue to work closely with State and Federal agencies to rid the community of such gangs coming into our community wreaking havoc and causing destruction."

The suspect is currently in the custody of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and will be processed for removal from the United States.
