Dr. Ben Carson, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary, announced that he is “honored to serve as the National Faith Chairman” for Donald Trump’s campaign. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Carson praised Trump as a “staunch supporter of the faith community” and expressed confidence that Trump will continue this support if re-elected as the 47th President of the United States.

In a press release, Trump emphasized that Vice President Kamala Harris and the “radical left” had “waged war on America’s faith community.” He announced that Carson would lead efforts to engage with religious leaders and promote religious freedom on behalf of the campaign.

"Kamala Harris and the radical left have been waging war on America’s faith community since day one," Trump stated. "Her choice of Governor Tim Walz as her Vice Presidential nominee further proves their commitment to intensifying those efforts. Ben Carson, a man of unwavering faith, is the ideal person to work with faith leaders to defend religious freedom and prosperity in our nation. No one championed the faith community more than I did, and I look forward to partnering with Ben Carson to resist Kamala Harris' war on faith and to make America great again in November."

Carson, who previously ran for president in 2016, endorsed Trump after withdrawing from the race. Upon Trump's election, Carson joined the administration as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

As reported by Breitbart News, Carson was invited by Trump to lead a prayer during a cabinet meeting while serving as HUD Secretary. In his prayer, Carson reminded the group that “separation of church and state mea N ns the church does not dominate the state, and the state does not dominate the church.”

A vocal critic of abortion, Carson has frequently spoken on the issue. At the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), he recalled his experience as a neurosurgeon, noting that prematurely born infants can “feel and react,” reinforcing his pro-life stance
