Senator JD Vance (R-OH) sharply criticized former Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) following her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing both of profiting from U.S. military engagements while American children pay the price.
Speaking with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in Arizona, Vance described Cheney as someone whose career has been defined by sending "other people's children to fight and die for her military conflicts." He further claimed that both Cheney and Harris "get rich" when the U.S. "loses wars instead of winning them," highlighting the personal and political gains he believes
they accumulate at the expense of American lives.
During a conversation with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Senator JD Vance (R-OH) responded to Kirk's observation that "every failed warmonger in the established D.C. machine" supports Vice President Kamala Harris, while "peacemakers" back former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Vance.
"Liz Cheney endorsed Kamala Harris," Kirk said. "It's so interesting that every failed warmonger in D.C. is behind Harris, while the peacemakers support Trump and Vance. 'Blessed are the peacemakers,' as the Scriptures say."
Vance agreed, stating, "You are right, blessed are the peacemakers. Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney make very interesting partners. They get rich when America’s sons and daughters go off to die. They get rich when America loses wars instead of winning them. They get rich when America gets weaker. We want American strength, security, and most importantly, peace. Let's bring peace back to the world, and Donald Trump is the candidate to do it."
Senator JD Vance (R-OH) continued his criticism of Liz Cheney while discussing the potential presidency of Donald Trump, emphasizing how a second Trump administration would sideline figures like Cheney. “Maybe the best thing—well, not the very best thing, but a very good thing I could say about the next presidency of Donald J. Trump is that he’s going to make sure that people like Liz Cheney are laughed out of the Oval Office instead of rewarded," Vance said.
Vance harshly criticized Cheney's foreign policy, accusing her of sending "other people’s children off to fight and die for her military conflicts" in pursuit of unrealistic goals, such as trying to transform Afghanistan into a "thriving literal democracy." He stated, "For that, Liz Cheney was willing to kill thousands of your children. Liz Cheney, you know what, I think it’s the best thing in the world if she’s supporting Kamala Harris."
His remarks come after Cheney publicly announced that she would be voting for Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election, citing the "danger" posed by Trump as the reason for her opposition. Cheney has previously described Harris as a "radical liberal" and has openly criticized Trump, particularly in the aftermath of the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, accusing him of inciting the violence. She has also made clear that she would not support Trump if he were to be the Republican nominee in the 2024 election.
