Poll: Kamala Harris Lags Behind Both Jill Stein and Donald Trump Among Muslim Voters in Four Key Swing States

A recent survey reveals that Muslim voters in four out of six critical swing states are turning away from Vice President Kamala Harris amid the "Abandon Harris" campaign, which criticizes her and President Joe Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

According to polling data from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a far-left organization, Green Party candidate Jill Stein leads Harris among Muslim voters in Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin. In Nevada, former President Donald Trump is preferred over any candidate by Muslim voters.

It's worth noting that the UAE has labeled CAIR as a terrorist organization, and in 2009, a U.S. federal judge found evidence of CAIR's ties to Hamas. In the 2007-08 terror financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator. The FBI subsequently severed ties with CAIR, and the UAE designated it a terrorist organization in 2014, a move opposed by the Obama administration.

In Michigan, a key swing state, CAIR’s poll shows 40 percent of Muslim voters supporting Stein, more than tripling Harris's support. Trump is in second place with 18 percent, followed by Harris at 12 percent. Two percent support independent candidate Cornel West, while just over 20 percent are undecided and 8 percent will not vote.

The poll underscores Harris's diminishing appeal among Muslim voters in Michigan, a state where the national uncommitted movement, which criticized the Biden-Harris administration's handling of the Israel-Hamas war, gained significant traction. Over 100,000 voters in Michigan chose the uncommitted option, nearly matching Biden's 154,188-vote margin in 2019. This reflects ongoing dissatisfaction with Harris and highlights the challenges she faces in her campaign.

In the CAIR/Molitical Consulting LLC survey, Kamala Harris only leads among Muslim voters in Georgia and Pennsylvania, with 43 percent and 37 percent support, respectively.

In Georgia, Jill Stein follows Harris with 17 percent, while Donald Trump is close behind at 14 percent. Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver has 7 percent support, and Cornel West has 6 percent. Another 13 percent of voters are undecided or plan to abstain.

In Pennsylvania, Stein leads with 25 percent of Muslim voters, while Trump has 8 percent, and West has 4 percent. Nearly 20 percent are undecided, and 6 percent will not vote.

When aggregated across all surveyed swing states, Jill Stein leads with 30 percent of the Muslim vote, Kamala Harris follows with 28 percent, and Donald Trump has 15 percent. Cornel West and Chase Oliver receive 3 percent and 1 percent, respectively.

The survey, conducted by CAIR/Molitical Consulting LLC from August 25-27, 2024, includes 1,478 responses, with 1,076 verified and matched to the national voter file. The margin of error is ±2.95 percentage points.

This poll comes amid the pro-Palestinian “Abandon Harris” campaign, which aims to ensure Harris’s defeat in November. The campaign, registered under the name Abandon Biden, announced its commitment to this goal on the first day of the Democratic National Convention in August.

The group stated in a release that its “mission is now laser-focused on exposing and opposing Kamala Harris and her complicity in genocide.”

Following this announcement, Harris reaffirmed her support for Israel in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, where she responded “No” when asked if there would be any changes in policy regarding arms and support to Israel. This stance has triggered widespread criticism from the populist progressive left.

The controversy has become a major obstacle for Harris’s electoral prospects, significantly threatening her chances of winning the upcoming election.
