Trump on Recent Assassination Attempts: ‘The Rhetoric is Escalating

**Trump Addresses Second Assassination Attempt, Blames Rhetoric from Democrats and Media**

In the wake of a second assassination attempt, former President Donald Trump addressed the issue during a live X Space conversation, highlighting the escalating political rhetoric.

During the interview on Monday evening, Trump was asked about the recent attempt on his life, which occurred just one day prior. On Sunday, Ryan Wesley Routh was reportedly found hiding in bushes near Trump International Golf Course, where Trump had been playing. Law enforcement revealed they discovered an AK-style rifle, a Go-Pro camera, and two backpacks in the vicinity.

This incident marks the second attempt on Trump's life in less than two months. The first occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, when gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks fired a shot that grazed Trump’s right ear from the rooftop of a nearby building.

Reflecting on the repeated danger, the host asked Trump: "This was a second attempt on your life in under two months. What do you make of that?"

“Well, there’s a lot of rhetoric going on,” Trump replied. “Many people believe that when Democrats talk about a ‘threat to democracy,’ it’s feeding into this kind of behavior. It seems both of these individuals were radical leftists. The first one, they need to investigate further. They have apps they haven’t opened yet, which is odd. Also, the father of the shooter in Butler got the biggest lawyer in Pennsylvania—very strange.”

As reported by *Breitbart News*, rather than dialing back the intensity after the second assassination attempt, many Democrats and mainstream media outlets have ramped up their rhetoric.

In a separate interview with Fox News, Trump blamed the Biden-Harris administration, suggesting their rhetoric was a direct catalyst for the second attack.

“He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it,” Trump stated. “Their words are encouraging violence against me, while I’m the one trying to save this country. Meanwhile, they’re the ones responsible for tearing it apart, both from within and outside.”
