President Joe Biden (D) is facing accusations of attempting to undermine Vice President Kamala Harris’s (D) presidential campaign.
During a press conference on Friday, Biden was asked about Harris's involvement in addressing recent national crises and her role in recent days, according to video footage.
Biden responded, “I’m in constant contact with her. We’re on the same page. She played a key role in passing the laws we’re using now. She’s been a major player in everything we’ve accomplished, including legislation many thought we couldn’t pass."
He added, “Her staff and mine are working together on everything we’re doing."
Following Biden's remarks, CNN senior commentator Scott Jennings reacted on social media, saying, "He is literally trying to destroy her campaign, and it’s just incredible."
Social media users quickly reacted to Scott Jennings' post, with one person commenting, "I think he wants her to lose," while another remarked, "He finally knows exactly what he's doing." Another user added, "She's destroying it all on her own."
The controversy around Biden’s statement about Harris and himself "singing from the same song sheet" comes after a Breitbart News report from September 10, which revealed that Harris's campaign had plagiarized policies from Biden's campaign website shortly after she entered the presidential race.
According to Breitbart, Harris was criticized for not posting any policy details on her campaign site for weeks. The set of policies was finally published just 48 hours before the first and likely only presidential debate, which aired on ABC.
Meanwhile, the Daily Wire noted that Biden’s press briefing coincided with Harris taking the stage at a rally in Detroit, Michigan. CNN had reportedly planned to switch its coverage to Harris's rally, but Biden's unexpected press conference "clearly overshadowed" her event, according to the network.
